German rising star Luca Engstler is no stranger to the i30 N TCR cockpit. The young racer showed incredible speed in TCR categories around the world in 2019, taking the Malaysia and Asia drivers’ honours. Luca started his career in karting, before progressing to ADAC Formula 4 in 2015. His TCR career began in 2017, when he competed in TCR Germany, taking his first podiums in the third round of the season. In total, Luca boasts four TCR titles to his name. After a wildcard appearance at Slovakia Ring and his impressive form throughout the year, Luca deputised for regular Hyundai driver Augusto Farfus in the penultimate round of the 2019 WTCR season, Race of Macau, in the i30 N TCR. One of the first drivers to be announced for our Customer Racing Junior Driver program, Luca progresses to a full-time WTCR seat for the 2020 season and is eligible for the newly-introduced rookie category.
