About Nicolas

Born in Chênée, Belgium, Nicolas has been competing in the WRC since 2007 and has since become one of the sport’s most proficient co-drivers. He started working with Thierry in 2011, after impressing with his experience and motivation. Moving to our team in 2014, Nicolas helped secure our first ever WRC victory at Rallye Deutschland in that same year. Thierry is quick to praise his co-driver’s precision and matching skillsets in the cockpit. Finishing second in the Championship in 2016, Nicolas was awarded the prestigious WRC Co-driver of the Year accolade. Helping his compatriot to four wins in 2017, he won more events than any other co-driver, cementing our Belgian crew’s status as one of the most formidable in the WRC. Away from rallying, Nicolas has a passion is to explore the world, and in particular Africa. He also became a father to daughter Myrtie in 2016, starting a new chapter in his life.

Q1.Who is your motorsport idol?

Sebastien Loeb for his amazing career. A very special person, huge talent and a very accessible guy.

Q2.What are your hobbies?

Cooking, mountain biking, swimming, sharing time with the family.

Q3.What is your ideal destination for a holiday?

Africa as in Tanzania or Kenya for the exceptional landscape. Away from stress, meeting friendly people, the sun’s shining and I’m surrounded by wildlife.

Q4.Which profession would you have chosen if you hadn’t become a rally co-driver?

Since childhood, I’ve been focusing on becoming a rally navigator, I’m unable to reply. 🙂

Q5.What is your favourite food?

I’m an Epicurean, so tasting new food is a nice way to discover new culture. An Argentinian “lomo de biffe” with a glass of Saint Felicien Malbec is probably my favorite choice.
