Rally Sweden

Rally Sweden offers one of the fastest and most thrilling rounds of the World Rally Championship. The only event of the season held exclusively on snow-covered roads, Rally Sweden was first held in 1950. Known then as the ‘Rally of the Midnight Sun’, the event ran during the summertime and it was only in 1965 that it shifted to its current winter setting. Since joining the WRC calendar in 1973, the event has been dominated by Scandinavian drivers who won every year up until 2004, when Sebastien Loeb became the first ‘outsider’, as they are known, to claim victory.
