Despite only turning 20 at the start of 2025, Mathys Jaubert emerged as one of the stories of the 2025 European Le Mans Series season in his first season of Prototype comeptition.

As the final stint driver for the Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Programme-supported car in the LMP2 series for most the 2025 he was instrumental in helping the team to three wins during the six-date season, including a home race win at the 4 Hours of Le Castellet. As well as great pace on track, the season helped him gain more experience in every aspect of endurance racing, including racecraft and the confidence to make critical strategy decisions.

His exploits made it a natural decision to immediately promoted to Genesis Magma Racing’s FIA World Endurance Championship driver line-up for the 2026 season. The move to the Hypercar class is the latest step in a motorsport career which began in French national sportscar series. He entered Porsche Carrera Cup France in 2023, finishing second in the Rookie championship. He finished second overall in the series in 2024, as he also expanded his horizons by racing the Porsche Supercup and Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.

Q&A with Mathys

What is your favourite circuit and why?

I don’t really have a favorite circuit but I love tracks that are hilly and technical with blind corners like Portimao, Spa or Suzuka.

What do you do to focus before a race?

One hour before getting in the car, I watch the onboard from the day before one more time.
I also check the pace of the other drivers and I look to see who is in the other cars to know who I will be fighting against. This is very important! Then, I just focus. I don’t really listen to music much or I don’t isolate myself. I enjoy speaking to everyone and just be my usual self.

In 2025, you became one of the first drivers joining the Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Programme. What was the most valuable lesson you learnt?

I learnt a lot of things! Off track, I gained several insights on media activities.
In terms of driving, it's mainly related to aero. I was used to GT cars so I had to learn a lot about the LMP2 car and its aero-balance.

Which profession would you have chosen if you hadn’t become a racing driver?

I'm currently enrolled in an engineering school so, I think the answer would be engineer in motorsport.

When I was younger, I also participated in quite a few skiing competitions. Then, I decided to stop skiing to continue with karting. So, If I have to choose another sport, it would be skiing for sure.

Who is your motorsport idol?

When I was young, I really liked Jules Bianchi. His family also helped me when I was karting.

During my karting years, I also started to appreciate Norman Nato. He became one of my idols and I was following everything he did. He’s also quite impressive in hypercars. So, he’s just a very strong driver.

What’s your secret to success?

Don't give up and always believe in yourself!
