Debut season

The GMR-001 Hypercar and Genesis Magma Racing will join the world’s best on track in its debut season in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Recognizing the scale of the challenge, and the quality of the competition, targets are realistic – focusing on building a strong foundation to step forward from in future years.

Two cars – the #17 shared by Pipo Derani, André Lotterer and Mathys Jaubert, and the #19 of Paul-Loup Chatin, Mathieu Jaminet and Dani Juncadella – begin a new chapter.

Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Programme

The Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Programme prepared the team for life at the pinnacle of the endurance racing world. Team members and prospective drivers gained vital experience in the European Le Mans Series, surprising many in taking three wins in six races.

Two Trajectory drivers – Mathys Jaubert and Dani Juncadella – became part our WEC line-up as the team was built alongside an extensive testing and development schedule for the GMR-001 Hypercar to ensure the efficiency, reliability and consistent performance needed to compete in the series.

Beginning of our journey

Behind closed doors the first steps in the creation of Genesis Magma Racing began with the start of design work on the Genesis G8MR 3.2l Turbo V8 that would become the heart of the GMR-001 Hypercar.

The truth was finally revealed in Dubai – with Genesis Magma Racing, Hyundai Motorsport was entering the FIA World Endurance Championship led by Team Principal Cyril Abiteboul and championship-winning drivers André Lotterer and Pipo Derani.
