Home hero among Hyundai Motorsport customers on ERC event
Antal Kovács takes his i20 N Rally2 to the stages of his home round of the FIA European Rally Championship at Rally Hungary this weekend. Kovács, who already has two podiums in the car to his name in Croatia this year, shares the car with co-driver Richárd Csaki for the gravel event, which forms the second round of both the ERC season and the national rally championship.

The Hungarian pairing is joined by Kowax DST Racing drivers Martin Vlček and Dariusz Biedrzyński in their pair of i20 N Rally2. Both men also competed in the ERC season opener in Spain last month, achieving strong results in the ERC Masters class — Czech driver Vlček and co-driver Jakub Kunst finishing third, ahead of the Polish crew Biedrzyński and Rafał Fiołek in fourth.

Reigning champions begin season in Slovenia
Already victorious twice this season in neighbouring Croatia, i20 N Rally2 crew Rok Turk and Blanka Kacin begin the defence of their Slovenian Rally Championship title at Rally Vipavska dolina. The Hyundai Slovenia-backed duo, who have been a dominant force in the national championship in the Rally2 era, are also defending winners of the event. The 2024 running marked the start of a campaign that saw them claim five consecutive victories, securing the championship with ease.

They are one of four i20 N Rally2 teams on the entry list. Their compatriots Jan Medved and Izador Šavelj, and Ivan Hrženjak and Rok Gomizelj are also competing for national championship points. Meanwhile, Austrian duo Markus Steinbock and Harold Bachmayer, along with German crew Manuel Kößler and Benedikt Hofmann, will contest the Alpe Adria Cup at the event, with the latter two aboard an i20 R5.

Finnish crew continue season in Italy
Benjamin Korhola and Kristian Temonen travel to Sicily to take on the Targa Florio, the third round of the national rally championship in Italy. The Finnish pairing has shown strong pace in the previous rounds — Korhola finishing in the top ten in both events and winning the Under-25 class at Rally Regione Piemonte, the most recent round. This performance is notable given that tarmac is a relatively unfamiliar surface for Korhola, who previously focused on gravel events in Finland earlier in his career.

The second i20 N Rally2 crew at the event is an all-Italian affair, with Liberato Sulpizio and Alessio Angeli driving the Friulmotor-prepared entry.
