He started his car racing career in French national sportscar series, eventually entering Porsche Carrera Cup France in 2023 and finishing second in the Rookie championship. He finished second overall in the series in 2024, as he also expanded his horizons by racing the Porsche Supercup and Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.
As the qualifying and final stint driver for both the first two races of the 2025 ELMS season, Jaubert has been instrumental in helping the #18 IDEC Sport team to class victory at the 4 Hours of Barcelona and overall success at the 4 Hours of Le Castellet.
Q&A with Mathys
What has been your favourite ELMS race so far and why?
With no doubts, I would choose Barcelona. It was not the easiest one. It was a long week because we started the week with the pre-season testing. So, it was quite long. But, I discovered a lot about the series and I received various tips. For me, it was the first time participating in qualifying. I was happy with how that went. We even won the race, which was crazy! Great memories and my best weekend so far.
What do you do to focus before a race?
One hour before getting in the car, I watch the onboard from the day before one more time.
I also check the pace of the other drivers and I look to see who is in the other cars to know who I will be fighting against. This is very important! Then, I just focus. I don’t really listen to music much or I don’t isolate myself. I enjoy speaking to everyone and just be my usual self.
What is the most valuable lesson you learnt this year with the Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Programme?
I learnt a lot of things! Off track, I gained several insights on media activities.
In terms of driving, I was used to GT cars so I had to learn a lot about the LMP2 car and its aero-balance.
Which profession would you have chosen if you hadn’t become a racing driver?
I'm currently enrolled in an engineering school so, I think the answer would be engineer in motorsport.
When I was younger, I also participated in quite a few skiing competitions. Then, I decided to stop skiing to continue with karting. So, If I have to choose another sport, it would be skiing for sure.
Who is your motorsport idol?
When I was young, I really liked Jules Bianchi. His family also helped me when I was karting.
During my karting years, I also started to appreciate Norman Nato. He became one of my idols and I was following everything he did. He’s also quite impressive in hypercars. So, he’s just a very strong driver.
What’s your secret to success?
Don't give up and always believe in yourself!
