Updated title-winning i30 N TCR revealed
The latest version of our highly successful i30 N TCR has been revealed, carrying styling cues from the newest iteration of the car’s road-going counterpart.
Keeping the connection
The update to the i30 N TCR maintains the close bond between our Customer Racing department’s first circuit racing project and the model upon which it is based. This connection between race and road cars, especially our high-performance N range, has long been a critical part of our projects.
“Forging strong links between our motorsport projects and the road-going Hyundai range has been a vital part of the Customer Racing departments since the beginning,” said our Customer Racing department’s Operations Leader Andrew Johns. “When the latest updates to the i30 N were revealed it was important that we were able to match these changes with the i30 N TCR.”
The winning formula
The i30 N TCR is one of three cars for the category built by our Customer Racing department, alongside the Veloster N TCR and the Elantra N TCR. All three are available to privateer teams to race in series around the world. Customers with any of the cars can rely on the same high level of support from our support engineers and aftersales team to help them achieve their goals.
Since it first hit the track, the i30 N TCR has become one of the benchmarks within the incredibly competitive TCR category. In WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup, the highest level of racing in the class, our drivers were crowned winners in both 2018 and 2019. In total, our i30 N TCR customers have won more than 180 races and lifted titles in 13 different series spanning five continents.
“Results show it has always been a very strong contender in the TCR category,” said Andrew. “However, we never take the successes of our customers for granted, so are constantly working to keep them at the front of their championships.”
A family of liveries
Our customers have always been considered an extended part of our family. In honour of this, we have created a series of special liveries for our customer cars in both rallying and racing championships. Inspired by our WRC car, these striking and instantly recognisable designs ensure that every customer team feels a part of our family, as well as looking good on either circuit or stage.
