German championship regulars secure first podium of 2024 season

Finishing second, Danish crew Simon Vallentin and Karsten Isaksen led a double podium for i20 N Rally2 crews at the German Rally Championship round at the Ostsee Rallye (September 6-7).

The duo was fastest on four of the ten competitive stages run. They briefly led overall after their first top time of the event on SS5 but dropped back to second on the following stage. A ten-second penalty for a jump start on SS8 lost them further ground to the leader, but they maintained their pace until the end of the rally, winning the final test.

They finished ahead of German duo Nico Knacker and Thomas Puls, who put in a consistent performance in an i20 N Rally2 prepared by FS-Sport. They were never outside of the top four on any stage – helping to complete a Hyundai Motorsport customer 1-2 on SS5. They held third place throughout the second and final day of the rally, gradually building a comfortable margin over their closest challengers behind to secure a first podium of their national season.
