Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
The European Le Mans Series begins at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, following the championship’s official test at the same venue.
The extra track time before the event is a key opportunity for new drivers to get to grips with new cars, or gel with new team-mates before the serious business of a season of racing gets underway. And when it does, the Spanish Grand Prix venue offers an excellent all-round examination of the capabilities of car and driver. There are overtaking chances mainly into Turn 1 and Turn 10, though elsewhere as well for the committed, while the long Turn 4, high-speed Turn 9 and final corner demand good balance from the car to succeed.
