Rides to remember with Dani and Hayden
Last month, Hyundai Motorsport enjoyed the 31st running of one of the UK’s biggest events at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (11th July – 14th July) with current Hyundai Shell Mobis World Rally Team driver Dani Sordo wowing fans and friends at the spectacular event.
As well as Dani, 2023 FIA European Rally Champion and current ERC points leader Hayden Paddon was reunited with the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC with which he claimed four WRC podiums between 2017-2018.
Both drivers took to the world-famous hill climb and special rally stage in the i20 Coupe WRC. Offering an array of passengers an unforgeable experience across the four days of multi-packed action.
Despite a heavy rain shower on Saturday afternoon, Dani was able to give the gift of a lifetime to one of his fans. The fan had sought out Dani for an autograph or a selfie, but ended-up with the ride of his lifetime alongside his hero just minutes later.
“It was nice to be back in Goodwood! It is always special when you get to drive with someone who has never been in a rally car before. It is rewarding to see the smile on their faces once the ride is over” explained Dani.
This was not the only surprise of the weekend as an Instagram story posted on Hyundai Motorsport’s Instagram account – @hmsgofficial – invited fans dressed in Hyundai Motorsport merchandise to meet in front of Goodwood House for a special surprise – a dream passenger ride with Hayden Paddon.
“It was fantastic! I had no idea this was the prize. A once in a lifetime opportunity and Hayden was fantastic”, commented the fan after the exciting ride.
Hyundai Motorsport customers were also well represented with BRC driver James Williams showing a streak of orange in his Hyundai i20 N Rally2 during the rally stages, from hosting numerous guests en route to being the fastest competitor on the stage over the weekend.
Elsewhere on the hill, Hyundai Motor Group brand Genesis participated in the Sunday shootout with the new GV60 Magma Concept, which made its world debut at the festival, setting a very impressive time up the hill.
Overall, fans came from far and wide for the event, with Paddon sharing his first hill climb at Goodwood with Lucas Abriata, an Argentinian content creator [Take a look at the Instagram reel].
Spanish content creator Axel Redondo [Take a look at the Youtube video] and Ken Block’s daughter Kira were also engaged in a breathtaking stage, among many other guests.
