Teenager wins four stages, including the Power Stage on latest event
Second place at the Kocaeli Rallisi (October 4-6) lifted Kerem Kazaz back into the lead of the Turkish Rally Championship with just one round to go. He, together with French co-driver Corentin Silvestre, finished second on the event, just 9 seconds behind the overall winner after winning four of the nine stages on the event, including the Power Stage.
The additional points could prove crucial. While Kazaz and Silvestre were able to score a total of 23 points from the weekend, the crew who led the standings into the weekend could add only four – for second on the Power Stage – to their tally after being forced out on the opening day and having to restart on Day 2 out of contention for a strong overall weekend. The difference in scores allowed Kazaz to overturn a 7.3 point deficit in the championship standings to take the lead of the series for the first time since after the opening weekend.
