Korean drivers take podiums from Vallelunga

Solite Indigo Racing pairing Junesung and Junui Park took a podium finish each from the TCR weekend at Vallelunga (September 20-22). The Korean due shared the third row of the grid for Race 1 but their Elantra N TCR went in different directions after the race start. While Junui Park fell back to eighth on the opening lap, Junesung climbed to fourth. He made up another place when he made an opportunistic move into the podium places. Junesung held the position for the rest of the race, including having to defend his position during a final two-lap sprint following a late Safety Car period. Junui Park recovered from his slower start to take sixth on the penultimate lap, only to be pushed wide in the final corners of the race, dropping outside the top ten.

Junesung showed his pace again in Race 2, making his way to second and then being presented with the lead when his rival was forced to pits with a puncture in the closing laps. However, a post-race penalty cost him the victory, leaving him to finish fifth. His penalty promoted Junui Park from third to second, for his first podium since the opening weekend of the season.

BRC Racing Team driver Gabriele Covini scored his best finish of his debut season in the championship when he crossed the line eighth in Race 1, just ahead of fellow Elantra N TCR driver Michele Imberti.
