FIA European Rally Championship

Kowax DST Racing’s three i20 N Rally2 crews each took strong results from the team’s home round of the European Rally Championship at Barum Czech Rally Zlin (August 15-17). Continuing their strong showing in the Czech championship, Simon Wagner and co-driver Hanna Ostlender finished fourth overall – second of those running in the national series. The pair were in contention for a podium and within four seconds of the lead before a puncture on SS6. In a second Kowax-backed car, Erik Cais and Daniel Trunkát were fastest on three stages – but slowed by two punctures – to finish fifth overall. In the Master ERC class, points’ leaders Dariusz Biedrzyński and Rafał Fiołek scored their second podium of the season.

Irish Tarmac Rally Championship

Osian Pryce and Andy Hayes finished a highly impressive second overall at the Ulster Rally (August 15-16). In his first start in an i20 N Rally2 for nearly two years, Pryce was fastest overall on half of the event’s 12 stages, including five of the six on the second day of competition, matching the regular crews of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship.

FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship

Indonesian i20 N Rally2 drivers Aldio Oekon and Prafandi A. Putra finished 1-2 on the Sumatera Utara International Rally (August 8-10), the second round of both the Indonesian Rally Championship and FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship Asia Cup. Oekon and co-driver Respati Adhi finished 45 seconds clear of their nearest rival at the end of an event completed on treacherously slippery gravel roads after heavy overnight rain.

France Cup

i20 N Rally2 customers have recorded several strong results in events counting towards the French Cup of Rallies. Driver Paul Euvrard scored two victories at the Rallye Régional de Florival and Rallye Régional de la Plaine des Vosges, winning a total of eight stages across two weekends. Anthony Puppo was similarly strong on Rallye Régional du Trièves to take an eighth win in France this year.
