Czech Rally Championship

Austrian-German pairing Simon Wagner and Hanna Ostlender shocked the gathered local crews on Rally Bohemia (July 12-13). The crew was part of a tight battle for the lead during the opening day, with ownership of the lead swapping multiple times before Wagner and Ostlender took the lead for good after SS7. Over the second day of the rally the pair, driving an i20 N Rally2 Step2, were able to outlast their rivals, increasing their lead from under three seconds to nearly 30 in the final standings. Incredibly, their success was just the second non-Skoda overall victory on the event since 2009.

Austrian Rally Championship

Simon Wagner and Hanna Ostlender clinched the Austrian national title with a round to spare after a truly dominant win on Rallye Weiz (July 17-19). The pair won all nine stages of the event to claim the overall win with more than 30 seconds in hand over their nearest rival. More importantly, the result, the crew’s fourth win in five events in the national championship, allowed them to clinch the title. The title victory marked a milestone for Hyundai Motorsport customers as it is the first  for a crew competing in the i20 N Rally2 Step2 package introduced at the start of this season.

Turkish Rally Championship

Defending series champion Kerem Kazaz added to his lead in the Turkish Rally Championship after taking victory on the Kapadokya Rallisi (July 11-13). The first gravel event of the national season, the teenager and his French co-driver, Corentin Silvestre, took the challenge in stride, leading from start to finish. They won six of the nine competitive stages, including all four run on the second, and final, day of the event. The result, his third win of the season, stretched Kazaz’s lead at the top of the championship standings to 31 points.
