TCR Australia

HMO Customer Racing driver Josh Buchan was the highest-placed TCR Australia driver in both series races at The Bend Motorsport Park (September 11-13), where domestic competitors were joined by the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour grid. The two-time national series champion matched the TCR World Tour drivers all weekend, qualifying fourth in his Elantra N TCR and finishing the two races fourth and fifth to clinch the TCR Australia Cup awarded at the weekend. His TCR debutant teammate Ryan McMillan took his Elantra N TCR to a best finish of 12th in Race 2, while Hong Kong driver Lo Sze Ho — racing the team’s i30 N TCR — finished 15th in the same contest.

TCR Italy

Michele Imberti led home an Elantra N TCR customer 1-2 in the first race of the TCR Italy weekend at Mugello (September 12-14). The Kombat Motorsport driver converted his pole position into victory with relative ease ahead of BRC Racing Team’s British driver Alex Ley, who took second at the start. Ley headed the Hyundai Motorsport customers in Race 2, finishing fourth ahead of Imberti and Gabriele Covini in the second BRC Racing Team entry in sixth — the same result he took in Race 1. Trico WRT driver Damiano Reduzzi was tenth in both races in his Elantra N TCR.

TCR Asia

On their debut in the championship, Solite Indigo Racing teammates Junui Park and Junesung Park dominated Race 1 of the TCR Asia meeting at Inje Speedium in South Korea (September 12-14). The duo finished 1-2 in the race – held on the circuit that will host the inaugural Kumho FIA TCR World Tour event in the country next month – with Junui Park finishing fractionally ahead of his older teammate. Junesung returned to the podium in Race 2, finishing third in his Elantra N TCR behind the similar car of Z.Speed Community driver Benny Santoso.

TCR UK

Callum Newsham claimed a TCR UK podium in his first race at the wheel of an Elantra N TCR at Snetterton (September 13-14). The JH Racing driver came from the back of the grid – the penalty for the mid-season car switch from the i30 N TCR – to finish second. He made rapid progress, taking sixth before the end of the opening lap, but could not close on the leader after taking second. Despite a retirement in the wet Race 2, Newsham remains second in the points standings with one weekend remaining on the calendar.
