i30 N TCR driver proves unstoppable in the wet once more
i30 N TCR driver Callum Newsham dominated the opening race of the TCR UK meeting at Thruxton (September 21-22). In similar wet conditions to those which he dominated in at Croft earlier in the year, the JH Racing driver took pole position and led from start to finish to claim a superb victory in Race 1.
Unfortunately, it would be Newsham’s only chance to celebrate for the weekend. In the opening corners of Race 2, while trying to make positions from tenth on the partly-reversed grid, Newsham slid onto the still wet grass before making contact with another car, damaging the front of the i30 N TCR. The damage was too severe for him to start the final race of the weekend, which he would have started from pole thanks to his qualifying pace. However, his JH Racing team-mate Darron Lewis still gave the team something to smile about, taking third place in the finale.
