After debut podium Llarena returns with i20 N Rally2 in Spain

After his superb debut with the i20 N Rally2 delivered a podium finish at Rally Princesa de Asturias, former FIA ERC champion Efrén Llarena returns for a second event in a Hyundai Motor España-backed car for Rally Villa de Llanes, the seventh round of the Spanish Superchampionship. After recording the first podium of the year for Hyundai Motorsport customers in the series in their first start with the car, it remains to be seen what Llarena and co-driver Sara Fernández can do with a full weekend of experience in the i20 N Rally2 now behind them. As in their first outing they will be one of two i20 N Rally2 with Sergi Pérez Jr. and Axel Coronado sharing the other machine on the entry list for the tarmac event.

International list of i20 N Rally2 customers going Dutch

An incredible six Hyundai Motorsport customers, led by 2023 national champion Kevin van Deijne, are among the starters for the Hellendoorn Rally in the Netherlands. After three podium finishes to start the season, a problem at the most recent round in July dented van Deijne’s title hopes, but with three rounds remaining there is still the opportunity for he and co-driver Hein Verschuuren to make up ground. Almost among the starters are Swede Stig Andervang and Dutch co-driver Johan Findhammer – already podium finishers in the Dutch championship this year – and Dane Simon Vallentin, who has second place finishes to his name in Norwegian and German national events this year, as well as victories in the Danish championship. Dutchmen Martin van Iersel and Henk Vossen each drive an i20 N Rally2. Thomas Geerlings steers the lone i20 R5 on the entry list.
