French Tarmac Rally Championship season resumes, led by Hyundai Customer crew

2C Competition i20 N Rally2 crew Eric Camilli and Thibault de la Haye lead the French Tarmac Rally Championship standings as the season restarts after a two-month summer hiatus. The series heads into the Alps for Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine, close to the French borders with both Switzerland and Italy. The pair are one of four i20 N Rally2 crews on the event. National gravel championship front-runner Laurent Pellier pairs up with co-driver Grégory Fressard for the CHL Sport Auto team, who also prepare the car of Louis Constant and Pierre Delorme. The quartet is completed by Swiss crew Michaël Burri and Gaëtan Aubry – contesting their national championship that shares the Service Park with the French series for the event. The pair are currently leading the series, with one win from the three events held so far this season.

Former European Rally champion makes i20 N Rally2 debut in Spain

Efrén Llarena will make his competitive debut with the i20 N Rally2 at Rally Princesa de Asturias in the Spanish Superchampionship. Llarena, the 2022 FIA European Rally champion, will be joined by regular co-driver Sara Fernández for the event, which is based in Oviedo. The duo shares one of two Hyundai Motor España-supported i20 N Rally2 on the entry lists for the rally. The other will be crewed by Sergi Pérez Jr and Axel Coronado who have the best overall finish for a Hyundai Motorsport customer crew in the Spanish Superchampionship this year – a fourth place at April’s Rallye Sierra Morena. They, and the combination of Llarena and Fernández, will hope to breakthrough for a first i20 N Rally2 podium of the season this weekend.

Single i20 N Rally2 crew aim to add to winning record in Belgium

Cédric Cherain and Damien Withers are the lone i20 N Rally2 crew contesting Omloop van Vlaanderen – the fifth round of the Belgian Rally Championship. The BMA Autosport-run pair sit third in the standings, with a single win to their name – coming in the season opener but have stood on the podium at three of the four rounds this season, including at the most recent round at the Ypres Rally where he completed a Hyundai Motorsport customer 1-3. This week’s event is based at Roeselare, just 20km from the location of the previous round, with many stages on similar roads.
