Strong performance secures WRC2 podium in Monte-Carlo
French crew finish second on typically challenging rally
2C Competition crew Eric Camilli and Thibault de la Haye came home second in WRC2, and tenth overall at Rallye Monte-Carlo (January 23-26) after a strong performance. The weekend presented crews with a typical Monte mix of tarmac spotted with ever-changing patches of mud, ice, snow and water. Despite the tricky conditions making it tough to find the correct set-up for the car, Camilli and de la Haye were still a near constant among the top times in class aboard their i20 N Rally2. They never fell out of the podium positions in WRC2. The battle for second place in class was settled in Camilli and de la Haye’s favour after they set the fastest time on SS16 to start Sunday’s action. Charles Munster and Loris Pascaud, had a similarly consistent weekend in their BMA-run i20 N Rally2, finishing seventh in WRC2 and fifth in the WRC2 Challenger ranks.
