Portuguese crew take from national event at WRC round
Team Hyundai Portugal pairing Gonçalo Henriques and Inês Veiga finished an impressive fourth among the national championship runners at Rally de Portugal (May 15-18). The pair, in their first season with the Hyundai Portugal-backed team, were consistent on the gruelling gravel stages and crucially avoided the sort of issues that claimed many frontrunners. These included their team-mates Dani Sordo and Cándido Carrera who were knocked out second place after SS6.

Class podium for Margaillan, stage record for Camilli
Hugo Margaillan and Mathieu Coppa scored their first class podium of the season on Rallye d’Antibes – Côte d’Azur (May 17-18). The CHL Sport Auto crew scored a single stage win on the rally on their way to matching their best overall result of the season in fourth. Meanwhile, 2C Competition crew Eric Camilli and Thibault de la Haye were quickest three times on the opening day in their i20 N Rally2, taking the overall lead after winning SS2 in a new stage record time over the 25.78km Col de Bleine test. The pair fell back to second after making the wrong tyre choice for the afternoon. However, the duo was still in a podium place until a technical issue took them out of the rally.
