TCR UK title battle heads to Silverstone

The tight three-way battle for the lead of the TCR UK reaches the home of British motorsport this weekend, with i30 N TCR driver Callum Newsham sitting third in the standings, just seven points behind the current leader. Newsham, in his second year with the i30 N TCR, was the class of the field at the previous round at Croft, but the National Circuit layout at Silverstone presents a very different challenge. With the fast Copse corner and heavy braking in the overtaking zones for the corners for Maggotts and Brooklands, together with carrying the maximum Compensation Weight for the weekend, will test Newsham’s title credentials as the season enters a critical phase with just two weekend remaining after the Silverstone weekend. Newsham will be joined on track by his JH Racing team-mate Darron Lewis, while Sam Laidlaw is set to return after making both his series and i30 N TCR at Croft.

Back from summer break, TCR Denmark returns to Jyllandsringen

TCR Denmark is back action after a two-month summer break with three races at the tight, technical Jyllandsringen circuit. The weekend will the series’ second visit to the track this season. The first brought strong results for the Insight Racing team and driver Silas Rytter, who finished third in Race 2 – his only podium visit of the season so far in the i30 N TCR. Consistency elsewhere, however, means that Rytter sits third in the championship standings. His new team-mate for the season, Jakob Mathiassen comes into second part of the season with a best finish of sixth from the opening weekend. From this weekend the series embarks on a frantic final part of the season with four race meetings packed into seven weekends between now and the end of September.
