Daytona date starts new season for Elantra N TCR teams
Seven Hyundai Motorsport customer crews on grid for endurance race
Daytona International Speedway hosts the traditional season opener for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, with a four-hour race to start the 2025 campaign.
Seven Hyundai Elantra N TCR customer crews will be among the TCR class field taking on the Florida venue’s 5.7km sportscar circuit. The Hyundai Motor America-supported Bryan Herta Autosport team are responsible for four entries, with a re-shuffled driver line-up for the new season. Preston Brown and Denis Dupont again share the team’s #76 entry, aiming to repeat – or better – their second place at Daytona from last year. Mark Wilkins and the impressively fast Bryson Morris share the #33 car, with Mason Filippi and Harry Gottsacker sharing the #98 entry – reforming a driving partnership last seen in 2019 in a Veloster N TCR.
New to the team this season are Brazilian Suellio Almeida and American Madison Aust, who share the team’s #9 Elantra N TCR.
After clinching their first podium finish with the Elantra N TCR last year, Victor Gonzalez Racing Team start the season with two cars – the #18 of Lance Bergstein and Jon Miller and the #99 driven by Tyler Gonzalez and Eric Powell.
The Elantra N TCR line-up for the race is completed by Pegram Racing, making their debut as Hyundai Motorsport customers in the race with father-daughter pairing Larry and Riley Pegram aboard the #72 entry.
