Kout leads TCR Eastern Europe after opening weekend

Runner-up in the 2024 championship, Janík Motorsport’s Adam Kout made a strong start to the new TCR Eastern Europe season to lead the championship after the opening weekend of racing at the Red Bull Ring (April 11-13).

The Elantra N TCR driver took pole position, before dominating Race 1, leading from lights-to-flag to make a perfect start to the year. He added second place in Race 2 after charging through the order from his position on the partly reversed grid. Making progress through the pack, he took second place on lap 10 but could not catch the leader in the remaining time, drawing to within a second of victory by the end of the race. His second visit to the podium, plus the extra bonus point for fastest lap from both races, helped give him the early points’ lead.

His team-mate Jiří Zbožínek scored a best finish of fourth place in Race 1, one place ahead of Croatian driver Žarko Knego in his own Elantra N TCR.
