Elantra N TCR customers sweep the podium positions in Race 1

Hyundai N by Z.Speed drivers swept the podium in the opening race of the TCR Asia weekend at Buriram in Thailand (September 14-15).

On the series’ second visit of the year to the track Irishman Max Hart claimed pole position, ahead of team-mate Zhang Zhen Dong and Doyun Hwang. The trio occupied the same positions at the end of the race, Hart claiming his second victory of the season as the three drivers stood together on the podium for the fourth time this season.

Race 2 delivered more drama as the trio cut through the field from their positions on the partly-reversed grid. Hwang jumped from fourth to be the early leader, only to be joined in the lead battle by his team-mates following a Safety Car period. The trio exchanged the lead – and paint – on several occasions, before Hwang was forced to pit. Across the line at the end of the Zhang led Hart, however, both were given 30-second penalties for separate incidents, dropping them to second and third in the final results – the first time that a Hyundai Motorsport customer had failed to win in the championship this season.
