Elantra N TCR drivers complete dominant TCR Asia season in Macau

Hyundai Motorsport customers won both races of the TCR Asia finale in Macau to complete a dominant season in the championship where Elantra N TCR drivers won nine of the season’s ten races.

For the season finale five Elantra N TCR drivers – four from the Z.Speed by Hyundai N team, as well as Indonesian driver Dypo Fitramadhan from Delta Garage Racing Team – joined the grid which combined the best of TCR Asia with rivers from TCR China and the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour.

In the title fight Z.Speed drivers Zhang Zhen Dong and Max Hart entered the weekend split by just 16 points. However, the identity of the champion was decided within four corners of the start of Race 1, when Hart was a victim of a multi-car crash while Chinese driver Zhang claimed a fifth win of the year to secure the title.

Both Zhang and Hart would retire the from the season finale – the Irishman damaging his car after hitting the wall while chasing down the TCR World Tour drivers ahead – leaving Fitramadhan to claim a first win for the season, while Korean driver Doyun Hwang finished second to push his Z.Speed team-mate Hart back to third in the final standings.
