Estonia gravel waits for i20 N Rally2 crews on latest ERC stop
Fresh from their first podium of the season, joint FIA European Rally Championship points’ leaders Hayden Paddon and John Kennard take their i20 N rally2 to Rally Estonia for the fourth round of the eight-round calendar.
The gravel roads around Tartu and Otepää host what is a new event for the ERC, although previously the event was a World Championship round. Just three weeks after their podium in Sweden, the Kiwi pair aim to continue their strong form as the series remains in northern Europe.
The event brings together the best of the international crews competing for the 2024 crown and some top local crews. Among the latter group for the weekend are Finnish i20 N Rally2 combo of Benjamin Korhola and Sebastian Virtanen. The pair are regulars in the Finnish national championship and arrive in Estonia fresh from their first gravel-event podium of the year in the most recent round.

The three crews are led by Rallye d’Antibes winners Eric Camilli and Thibault de la Haye in their 2C Competition-prepared i20 N Rally2. The duo is the only i20 N Rally2 pairing on the event, but they will be joined by two crews driving i20 R5. Former national gravel rally champions Jordan Berfa and co-driver Damien Augustin will carry the #15 on their car, with Loïc Grondin and Estelle Latger sharing the #18 entry on the Rodez-based event.
Spanish drivers chase first i20 N Rally2 as season enters second half
Three Hyundai Motor España drivers will try to end the podium drought for i20 N Rally2 customers in this year’s Spanish Superchampionship at Rally Rías Baixas. Iván Ares, Sergi Pérez Jr and Óscar Palomo will all start the event. Though in his first year in the top class of the championship, Pérez Jr is the best placed of the three in the overall points and has the best rally finish of the group this year – a fourth place finish. The challenge that awaits them in the north-west of the country is the fourth tarmac event of the season and begins the second half of the season.
