Mikel Azcona

About Mikel

Mikel Azcona first stepped into a Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing car in 2022 – and it didn’t take long for him to settle in. The Spaniard surged to victory in his first year with BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse to claim his debut international touring car title in FIA WTCR – World Touring Car Cup. Hailing from Arrigorriaga, Mikel entered into national karting championships from as early as six years old, before trying his hand at sports car racing from the ages of 15 to 21. After graduating to touring car competitions, he claimed two TCR Europe titles (2018, 2021), cementing his status as an undisputed star amongst his fellow touring car competitors. In the first two iterations of TCR World Tour, the #196 driver finished fifth and third and the final standings. Away from TCR World Tour, Mikel has also been a key member of our Nürburgring 24 Hours entries, aiding in two of our four victories at the Green Hell.
