About Norbert
2019 drivers’ title winner Norbi returns for his fifth consecutive season as our driver in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup. Norbi grew up around the smell of petrol, burnt tyres, and brake pads. His uncle – a car mechanic and rally driver – built seven-year-old Norbi his first kart, which he enjoyed driving around the dirt roads of his hometown. Having caught the racing bug, he ventured into the world of online racing. A meeting with simulator racing world champion Gábor Wéber led to an introduction to Zengő Motorsport, and at the age of 21, Norbi tested his first – real – race car at the Hungaroring. Titles and wins in national series earned him an appearance in the 2008 World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) season, and two years later he became the first Hungarian driver to win an FIA organised event with his victory at the Race of Macau. After ten successful seasons in WTCC, Norbi joined Hyundai for the inaugural WTCR championship in 2018. In just his second season with the team, he won the drivers’ title in impressive style. During his four years with us, the Hungarian has amassed a total of seven wins and 18 podiums and will be looking for more success in his second season with the Elantra N TCR.
