Snow, snow and more snow! Rally Sweden continues to be the only full snow and ice rally on the calendar, transporting us into a winter wonderland. It is always ready to reward the most committed crew and punish the smallest of mistakes. The sub-zero conditions offer a stark contrast to the event’s origins in the 1950s and 60s as a summertime contest known as ‘Rally of the Midnight Sun’! Part of the WRC calendar since 1973, the event has historically been dominated by ‘local’ crews. Snowbanks help guide cars through the fast and frozen forest routes, but they can easily turn against crews and severely damage the car. Studded tyres are a must. The legendary Colin’s Crest jump adds to an adrenaline fuelled rally for teams and fans alike.
