June 24, 2014 – Excitement around the FIFA World Cup has reached fever pitch in Poland as the Hyundai Motorsport service area has played host to a special penalty shoot-out in celebration of Hyundais sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup.
In the build-up to this weekends Rally Poland, Hyundai Motorsports drivers Thierry Neuville, Juho Hänninen, Hayden Paddon and Dani Sordo have challenged their driving rivals to a friendly penalty contest with some of WRCs veteran journalists in goal and WRC Lives very own Colin Clark as referee.
Volkswagen Motorsports trio of drivers Sébastien Ogier, Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen, Citroën Racings Mads Østberg and Kris Meeke and M-Sports Mikko Hirvonen have all taken up the challenge.
Using the Hyundai Motorsport service area as a make shift goal, the drivers all put their best foot forward with some interesting results!
Arguably, only Hyundai Motorsports Thierry Neuville (Belgium) and Volkswagen Motorsports Sebastian Ogier (France) have much to shout about in this years FIFA World Cup but at least the Polish penalty shoot-out gave other WRC countries an opportunity to showcase their skills!
