IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge
The Bryan Herta Autosport-run Elantra N TCR won the first four races of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season, including a first-ever win for the manufacturer at the hallowed Daytona International Speedway. Preston Brown and Denis Dupont won the season opener and topped the podium again at Laguna Seca at the head of a Hyundai 1-2-3. However, it is Harry Gottsacker who stands alone at the top of the standings after finishing second at Laguna Seca and winning at both Sebring and Mid-Ohio with co-driver Mason Filippi, before completing the podium with Park Chase at Watkins Glen, while Filippi was taking part in the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
TCR China
Zhang Zhen Dong won four of the first six races of TCR China with his Z. Speed N Elantra N TCR and claimed a podium in the other events to take a clear lead in the championship standings. Zhang started his season with a sweep of the weekend in Shanghai and then, despite carrying significant amounts of Compensation Weight, added to his advantage with Race 2 victories at both Ningbo and Zhejiang after starting from fifth and ninth respectively on the partly reversed grid for the second part of each weekend.
TCR Eastern Europe
2024 runner-up Adam Kout holds a narrow lead in the TCR Eastern Europe standings after the weekends at Red Bull Ring and Salzburgring. The Czech driver got his season off to the perfect start with pole position and a Race 1 victory at the Red Bull Ring and finished second in Race 2. With maximum Compensation Weight, Salzburgring proved more challenging. He only took four points from Race 1 after having to pit mid-race with damage, but returned to form with victory on the high-speed circuit in Race 2. His Janík Motorsport teammate Jiří Zbožínek scored a best result of fifth in the season opener, and Croatian driver Žarko Knego achieved fourth place in both races at the Salzburgring.
TCR Chinese Taipei Touring Car Championship
South Korean KMSA Motorsport driver Joeng Weon Choi holds a slender lead in TCR Chinese Taipei after evenly sharing the four race victories over the opening two weekends of the season with his title rival. Choi, the TCR Japan champion from last year, has won Race 2 at both events and holds a two-point advantage in the standings.
TCR UK
A stunning run of podium finishes has helped i30 N TCR driver Callum Newsham into the lead of the TCR UK standings. A third and a second at the latest round at Oulton Park were the latest results in a streak that stretches over eight races, back to May’s weekend at Silverstone. The JH Racing driver has three race wins this season and leads the standings, accounting for the series’ regulations on dropped scores. In his first season of TCR racing, Finn Leslie has taken his i30 N TCR to two second places – on both occasions following Newsham across the line for a Hyundai 1-2.
TCR Europe
Irishman Max Hart enjoyed a stellar TCR Europe weekend at Hockenheim, winning in the series for the first time in Race 1 and then taking his Target-run entry to second in Race 2, climbing from eighth on the grid. The season so far has also given South Korean driver Junesung Park a first podium in the championship. The Solite Indigo Racing driver was one of the stars of the weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, snatching second in Race 1 with a final corner move before finishing fourth in Race 2 – one place ahead of teammate Junui Park in his best finish of the season so far.
TCR Panama
Elantra N TCR driver Emilio Valverde has won four of the six races held so far in the inaugural season of TCR Panama. The CHM Motorsport driver won both races of the season-opening weekend and picked up Race 1 victories at both the second and third events – all held at Autódromo Panamá. Hyundai Motorsport customers have already established themselves – and the Elantra N TCR – as one of the benchmarks in the series. Luis Ramírez has secured a podium on each weekend, and at the most recent event, Marcos Vento took his AP Racing-entered car to podiums in both races of his debut weekend.
Super Taikyu
After scoring their first win in the series, the Waimarama Racing team of Ryusuke Masumoto, Katsumasa Chiyo, and Lee Jung Woo lead the TCR class of the Japanese Super Taikyu series. The trio were victorious in their Elantra N TCR at the four-hour race at Sportsland Sugo, adding to podiums at Motegi and Fuji, and moving to the top of the standings with three rounds left on the schedule.
TCR Italy
British driver Alex Ley has one win to his name in his second season of racing in TCR Italy. The BRC Racing Team driver was victorious in Race 2 of the series’ meeting at Vallelunga, coming through from fourth on the grid, while his team-mate Gabriele Covini finished fourth – his best result of season so far. Elsewhere, in his only appearance to date in the 2025 campaign, Kombat Motorsport driver Michele Imberti took his Elantra N TCR to second in Race2 of the season-opening weekend at Misano.
