IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge

Victor Gonzalez Racing Team pairing Tyler Gonzalez and Eric Powell scored their second consecutive podium in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (July 11-13). The two-hour race, the only round of the championship’s season outside of the United States, started with the Bryan Herta Autosport entry of Bryson Morris and Mark Wilkins on pole position, but the pair were unable to finish the race after being caught in contact. Instead, it was the #98 of Mason Filippi and Harry Gottsacker, and Gonzalez and Powell’s #99 that were the top Elantra N TCR in the closing stages of the race. However, when Filippi dropped a lap behind, it presented second place to Gonzalez, matching his and Powell’s finish from the previous round at Watkins Glen.
