Hyundai Motorsport customers aim to complete sweep of Slovenian season

Champions-elect Rok Turk and Blanka Kacin finish their 2024 season in the Slovenian Rally Championship at Rally Idrija. Hyundai Motorsport customers have once more dominated the national series this year. Turk and Kacin, backed by Hyundai Slovenia, have won five of the six rounds with the remaining round – Rally Soča Valley – being won by i20 R5 crew Marko Grossi and Tara Berlot. Both crews will be on the stages for the final round. For Grossi and Berlot a second win would close out the 2024 season on a massive positive after a disappointing season as defending champions, while for Turk and Kacin a win would be a welcome return to the top step of the podium after being forced into retirement at the previous round. For either, though, a win would complete a season sweep for Hyundai Motorsport customers. The event also marks the i20 N Rally2 debut of Bulgarian driver Ignat Isaev, who will compete alongside countryman Yordan Yordanov.

Paddon chases title double in New Zealand to add to winning season

Already crowned the FIA European Rally champion for 2024, Hayden Paddon aims to add to his successful year at the International Rally of Whangerai – the final round of both the national rally championship in New Zealand and the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship. Paddon and co-driver Jared Hudson are one of a dozen crews in contention for the latter title in a unique winner-take-all season finale, that offers the Kiwi driver the prospect of winning two FIA titles, on different continents, in the same year. He will have to overcome crews from Japan, India and Indonesia as well as other teams on home soil to lift the title. Paddon and Hudson are also capable of winning the national crown, though they trail by 12 points in the standings. The duo have won every round of the season they have entered, but even that may not be enough if their rival finishes second to them. 238 kilometres of gravel stages, characterised by fast, flowing roads will decide the destiny of both titles.

i20 N Rally2 and i20 R5 crews on the stages for French Gravel finale

Six Hyundai Motorsport customer crews take on Rallye Terre de Vaucluse, the final round of the season in French Gravel Tarmac Championship. The group is led by the 2C Competition-run crew of Laurent Pellier and Kévin Bronner. After a third place and four runner-up finishes Pellier is already guaranteed to finish second in the championship and now has just the final round to complete a impressive run of podium finishes on every round this season. Charles Munster makes his return to the championship, and behind the wheel of an i20 N Rally2, alongside co-driver Loïc Dumont, while Christophe Casanova makes his competitive debut in i20 N Rally2 aboard an entry run by the CHL Sport Auto squad. The Hyundai Motorsport customer line-up is completed by three i20 R5 – driven by Laurent Lacomy, Frédéric Pradayrol and Daniel Chiavaro.
