Ready to brave Belgium

On a mission in ETCR at Circuit Zolder

On a mission in ETCR at Circuit Zolder

Our team is ready to make gains in the title standings at the Race BE next weekend (July 8-10), which will take place at the Circuit Zolder.

Our Director of Marketing and PR, Stefan, said: “We are really starting to find a good rhythm in FIA ETCR, and our target is to continue this momentum at the Race BE. The Circuit Zolder is no stranger to our drivers, which means we should be able to hit the ground running from the very start.”

Familiar surroundings
Our drivers have all tackled the 4.010km Circuit Zolder before. With a complex mix of high and slow-speed corners, high kerbs, and heavy braking zones, the previous experience will be invaluable.

Currently third in the drivers’ classification, Mikel is hoping his confidence of the circuit will help him have a triumphant weekend.

“I am sure we can be successful at Race BE,” he explained. “It’s a very technical and complicated track; it’s all about hard braking, so we need to focus on this area as it is one that can allow us to make gains in the races.”

Jean-Karl has successful memories of the track and is looking to add to those this weekend.

“I’ve raced at Circuit Zolder twice in the past,” he said. “The target is to have a weekend free of any issues and challenge for the top positions. I have some big expectations for this event.”

Finding the right rhythm
After his strongest weekend of the season in Spain, Norbert is feeling prepared to keep the momentum going in Belgium.

“I know the circuit well, which is helpful as we only have one Free Practice session,” said the Hungarian. “It’s tough, but I am hoping to fight for similarly good results like we had in Race SP.”

Ahead of his second weekend in FIA ETCR, Nicky is still hoping to learn more with every lap.

“This weekend should be easier for me because I have one event under my belt now,” commented Nicky. “I feel more and more comfortable in the car and I will attempt to put myself at the front from the start.”

The itinerary for the weekend sees the drivers split into two Pools on Friday, followed by one Free Practice session per group. On Saturday the Qualifying and Quarter Finals are held, with the Semi Finals and Super Finals taking place on Sunday.

The Race BE will also see Norbert swap cars with our WRC driver, Thierry. Thierry will sample our Veloster N ETCR and Norbert our i20 N Rally1 in a special demonstration on Saturday.
