Andreas Mikkelsen

About Andreas

Like many Scandinavians, skiing was Andreas’ first sport – and he was good at it! By the age of 12, he was a part of the Norwegian junior ski team, but a knee injury prompted a career switch to rallying at the age of 16. With fifth overall at Rally Sweden in 2008, Andreas is the second youngest driver to score a championship point at 17 years and 233 days old. Accolades kept coming, and in 2011 he won the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) before going on to successfully defend that title in 2012. An opportunity arose to dovetail his IRC campaign with selected WRC outings, before embarking on a full programme in 2014. Joining our team for three events at the end of 2017, Andreas immediately left a positive mark, leading on his debut. Remaining with us throughout 2018 and 2019, the Norwegian had an impressive nine top-five finishes with us, before departing at the end of the season. In his time away from the team, Andreas won a European Rally Championship (ERC) title, as well as two WRC2 titles. He also enjoys an active life outside of rallying – as well as still occasionally hitting the slopes!
