Gabriele Tarquini

About Gabriele

Having joined our team back in 2017, Gabriele has been integral to the success of the i30 N TCR on race circuits around the world. As our lead test driver, he assisted our team in developing our first TCR challenger, carrying out over 7,000km of testing. For its competitive debut Gabriele contested the Zhejiang round of the TCR International Series, in which he took the car’s first pole and race win. In 2018, he contested the inaugural FIA WTCR – World Touring Car Cup season; he made history by taking the first ever WTCR race win and subsequently delivered a maiden drivers’ title for the i30 N TCR. It was far from his only success in touring car racing: Gabriele has also been crowned champion in BTCC (1994), European Touring Cars (2003) and WTCC (2009). Gabriele added two wins to his i30 N TCR tally at WTCR Race of Morocco and Hungary in 2019, helping the team to power to second in the standings. For the 2021 season of WTCR, Gabriele is competing with our latest TCR challenger, the Elantra N TCR, in the pinnacle of touring car racing.
