Vallentin takes dominant win at Danish championship finale

Simon Vallentin completed the Danish Rally Championship season with a superb victory at Rally Stoholm (September 27-28) that also helped him and co-driver Line Lykke Jensen seal the Nordic Rally Championship title.

Though out of the running for the national title in Denmark the pair set the pace early in the final round of the national championship. Victory on all four of the stages contested on the opening day gave them a lead they would hold throughout the longer second day of the event in their i20 N Rally2. In damp conditions that made stages tricky and tyre choices difficult, six more fastest times from the eleven stages run on Saturday allowed the pair to more than double their overall advantage to take victory by over a minute.

Combined with their second position Rally Larvik in Norway earlier in the season, the victory was enough to confirm the pair as champions in the Nordic Rally Championship, which included a round apiece in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark.
