Making its second appearance on the WRC calendar, Croatia Rally is the first pure asphalt encounter of the season. After its popular debut, Croatia Rally is due to have an expanded itinerary in 2022, with crews competing on the local tarmac roads of Zagreb, Karlovac and Krapina-Zagorje counties. The condition of the tarmac varies greatly across the stages, with some sections much rougher than others due to weather and water damage. The roads themselves are generally fast, but are also quite narrow in parts. Taking place in spring, Croatia is hoping the event will bring fans from all over the world to the country and help display it as a prime tourist and sports destination.

2021 Summary
Thierry and Martijn completed a hat-trick of podiums at the debut of Croatia Rally. After winning the previous round at Arctic Rally Finland, Ott and Martin were unable to join their Belgian counterparts on the rostrum, finishing fourth.
