Another late addition to the 2022 WTCR schedule was the Circuit de l’Anneau du Rhin, which will be the site of Rounds 13 and 14 in early August. Similarly to Vallelunga, it will be the 3.621km track’s first appearance in the series. Opened in 1996, the circuit was planned and built by Marc Rinaldi and draws on inspiration from fellow French racetrack Circuit Paul Ricard. Despite its picturesque forest location, the venue has excellent transport and accommodation infrastructure, making it an excellent place to host the world’s elite touring car championship. The circuit’s most famous feature is its 1,050m long main straight.
